NIKKI: Hope neither *daanton nor I get into trouble for this one!
: This just had to happen!
It all started with me doing a Chinese New Year salute for 2011 [link] , then last year I concurred with *daanton that I should do another similar salute for 2012. But little did I know what I was getting into last year! [link]
Nor even this year! Because, again, yours truly was going to be the canvas!
Yes, I'm once again wearing my special Mandarin dress that was gifted to me back in 2006, but do you notice this year I've unbuttoned it and slipped it off my shoulders and off my back?? Because *daanton's gotten Jonesy to paint this year's tattoo-style Chinese New Year art on my back: a large snake!
How nice of him! And I think it looks quite good...
And don't worry, Jonesy's using washable markers [link] so this fake snake tattoo will wash off in the shower!
And don't forget: if you, like me and my parents and other ethnic Chinese Canadians, are going to be cooking your special Chinese-style soup(s) for the New Year's celebratory dinner, don't forget to stock up on chicken broth! [link]
Speaking of which, maybe next year I'll just stick to painting Chinese New Year artwork on my easel, not my own bare back!
Nikki's chipao or Mandarin dress, based on original design/art by ~Ricepot.
