Among today (7/30)'s iDevice pics.
The returning blooms of our re-planted gladiolus, this year marking the flowering plants' fourth year in the ground.
BTW, in the same lengthwise planter where grows our puny second Morning Glory, grows another smaller gladiolus. It may not flower this year, but it *is* growing....!
A touching story behind these flowering plants. Four years previous, I had sung for a funeral of a kindly and spirited elderly gentleman. All who came/participated (myself included) received a small paper bag containing three of four gladiolus bulbs, with the family's handwritten tagline: "Don't Be Sad, Be Glad". And since planted, these flowering plants have certainly made me and my folks glad, every year since then. Such a fitting tribute, wouldn't you say?
