:iconnikki6teenplz:: Hey guys! Hope you're not getting tired of me yet....!

Something a little bit different for this year's Remembrance Day (as Aussies and we Canucks know it), Veterans Day (for our American friends).... Remembrance Day and the following Remembrance Sunday (for our British fans).... Armistice Day, its alternate name (for our fans in France and Belgium.... Independence Day (for our Polish fans)....

But I digress. Needless to say, this is a day to remember and be thankful.

This year the gang and I are taking part in what was an inevitable fact of life during wartime in both WWI and WWII.... home front propaganda.

Wanna take this one, daanton?

Thanks, Nikki!

For those of us not fighting in the front lines against the enemy—those of us on the home front—it was about carrying on with everyday life what with rationing of food and basic needs and with inspiratory speeches throughout the nation to rally the people to the wartime cause. Even with you were on what was deemed the opposing side.

Among the various sources of patriotic inspiration for soldiers and home-fronters alike were the war posters, encouraging support for the nation and its fighting men and women abroad by way of food ration, reusing materials, hard work in the war factories, joining the armed forces and so forth.

Pictured here is a depiction of the 6TEEN "gang of six", as I like to call them, seen doing their bit for the war effort, in a WWII-style poster.

:iconnikki6teenplz:: Quite a project! And an honour, really, daanton.

So, to conclude, more pertinently, each of us should try in some way to remember our war dead, to remember that they fight for our freedom and civilization, to always remember the costs of war, and to vow "never again".... and not just at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, but every day. If it weren't for those who fought and died in the Great Wars, our world would've been a whole lot different and none of us would likely be here.....!

 LEST WE FORGET
